July 2022
UPDATED 7/22/2022
NOTICE - Hoot Owl has been implemented on the Lower Madison River today. No fishing after 2PM on the entire river below Ennis Dam.
It’s shaping up to be another lovely week here in the Madison Valley. Nighttime temperatures are dropping into the low 50’s while our daytime temperatures are finding their way into the upper 80’s. The Madison River at Cameron is running at 1540 CFS, 170 CFS over the historical average for July 22nd. Water temperatures have been fluctuating from 57 degrees all the way up to 69 degrees over the course of the last week. We’re starting to see smoke in the valley, however it has been clearing up by the day.
Fishing has been relatively consistent over the last few days on the Upper section of the river. PMD’s, Golden Sally’s and a plethora of Caddis have been hanging around and providing plenty of nutrition for our river’s local residents. Throwing streamers has been excellent within the last few days. We’re still waiting to see an abundance of grasshoppers here in town. Plenty of awesome fish are being caught, it’s a great time to be on the Madison River!
