This eight foot, three piece rod suits a variety of fly fishing scenarios. Its length and action are amenable to superior line control while working large oz weighted flies deep and at distance, lending itself to working a WF5 or DT5 up to a 6ST without interruption to ones casting rhythm. The tip calibrations were designed to work with the rugged ferrule and reel seat appointments in unison to handle very large fish on fine tippets.
We test with both modern and silk lines, preferring silk for its responsive casting performance, and found that with a DT4 oz heavier, it will handle most dry fly needs, especially on bigger, wild water such as those found here in the American West.
